Arrange sounds,

instruments and effects, and connect them to real-time body tracking input.
Everything happens in an efficient graphical interface with no coding required. Share your creations
directly from the app with players.
Sonic Moves includes a wide range of sounds and effects for you to get creative with:
Reverbs Delay Flanger Auto-Wah Chorus Tremolo Bitcrusher Decimator Ring Modulator Guitar Distortion String Resonator Time-pitch Varispeed Several Filters
The core principle of Sonic Moves is to connect sound parameters to body tracking. This means that you can change almost all of them in real-time. Musical parameters of software instruments like note onsets, velocity, octave and transposition can also be made interactive.
You can also test your composition interactively through various methods:
Sonic Moves compositions are meant to be played in the Sonic Moves Player app. Export your piece as a single file which you own and can distribute. This gives you complete control over your work. You can upload it to a website or file hoster, share it for free, or sell it through platforms like Gumroad. We are not involved in the distribution process of your works.
We are continuously developing Sonic Moves Creator to add more features and capabilities. Here is a sneak peak of what you can expect in the future:
The iPad version is optimized for touch input, and the macOS version has Mac-like features like keyboard shortcuts and easy file system access. Projects made on either platform are completely compatible with the other.
Sonic Moves Creator is free to download and use with a basic feature set. To unlock all features and publish your compositions, you need a subscription. There is a two week free trial, so you can try out all the features before paying anything.
A subscription costs 10$ per month or 80$ per year (saving over 15%). If you don 't want to buy a subscription, you can also purchase a lifetime license for 99$ (introductory price). We also offer a special price for education.
The subscription model allows us to continue development on Sonic Moves Creator and Sonic Moves Player.
For our trailer, Jakob composed the piece “White Mountain” on his iPad in Sonic Moves Creator. He used synths, samplers, pre-recorded loops, drum machines and a number of effects. For the interactive part, he focused on the hands.
In Berlin, we met with performer Tomoko Nakasato, and videographer Clemens Jurk. We put an iPad on a stand and used Sonic Moves Creator for live body tracking and sound output. For the live sound we had a bluetooth speaker connected. At the same time, we captured audio and video from the iPad to use it in the trailer later.
Just listening to the interactive sound, Tomoko completely improvised her movements which you can see in the video.
Ultimately, we were happy and pleased with how well the process went and how smooth the workflow was.
